On Thursday 21st October I flew out to Lanzarote for a week's holiday with Sally, Jonathan and the girls - my first 'real' break without Les. I had had a couple of flaky weeks as holidays were definitely Les' 'thing' and he always enjoyed them so much. So, much as I was looking forward to to visiting a new destination, there was enormous trepidation and sadness that I would not be sharing the experience with Les. The morning we left the house was difficult but after a few tears we were off. The location was pretty well perfect. When the girls asked if I was going in the pool with them I was shocked to find that I was able to go straight in without dithering (it usually took a while for me to get into any water, something that caused Les much amusement as he would always jump straight in!). I think he must have been there behind me giving me a shove! It was a very good week and I'm certain that Les would have approved.
