The day was a success and the £205 made to date a pleasing outcome. 24 people actually came along. It was good to have Richard and Hollie helping again and also Rhiannon this time. And I must mention my very faithful friend, Marlene. She is so loyal and totally reliable. Thanks also to another faithful friend, Gill, for the chocolate cake she contributed. It went down very well with all who sampled it! I have just been reading David's entry in the visitors' book - I'm sure that your dad knew how much you loved him, David, and he would have been so proud to know that you had been commissioned - though I believe that he DOES know. So no regrets my dear son. Dad's heart was full of love for us all, so little wonder that we all love him so much and miss him. His dying has left a big gap in all our lives. Dorothy's comment in the visitors' book is very touching and I feel very emotional when reading these comments. For all the things that Les and I were short of, particularly in the early years of our marriage when all the children were small, there was no shortage of love and that is what is the most important thing. I thankk God that we met, married and had such a wonderful life together. My memories are treasures that can never diminish.
